Dr. Rutherford began his work in the field of psychology being actively involved in clinical research and psychotherapy. The focus of Dr. Rutherford’s clinical work has been with military veterans and public safety professionals, specializing in treating substance use disorders, moral injury, and trauma.

In addition to directly working with clients, Dr. Rutherford is actively involved in research focused on implementation of behavioral intervention strategies. Dr. Rutherford is passionate about the intersections of behavioral science, practical applications of knowledge, and the power of human connections as a way to aid in helping people achieve emotional wellness.
